Finally - IndieTude Has Lift Off!
|
It’s hard to get a web site up and running - as well as go to work
each day. But - we are finally an online reality.
Welcome to the premier issue of IndieTude . In this issue we have
highlighted a few artists that have been to Los Angeles over the last
few months that are truly impressive. LP is back this month and we
intend to feature this incredible artist, as well as many more in the
coming months. We also hope to expand to other subjects pertaining
to music, highlighting local club scenes, films, comedy and politics.
Now that we're a reality, we need your feedback in the weeks to
come. E-mail us and tell us what you think, or if you have any
suggestions for covering indie bands or events. Our goal is to
publish monthly, but please check the site periodically for mini
updates.
Oh, and by the way - Please remember that November 8th is
election day in California (thanks to Arnold & friends). Hardly ever
are you asked to voice your opinion. This is more important than
just running off at the mouth. Take action! Don't allow a minority
to adversely influence your life. Half the battle in life is showing
up and participating. So stand up and vote.
Thanks

Even though IndieTude is based on the West Coast, we hope to spread the word across America. But we need your help.
If you are an aspiring writer, photographer - or preferably both and you'd like to cover the Indie scene in your area, please send us your submissions. We can’t pay you anything (we’re broke too) but you'll get to see your name, words and photos in lights as a bonafide IndieTude Contributor.
Submission Tips - Writing: Writings should include general information (e.g. who, what, when, why, how and your thoughts). In other words tell the story. Try to be concise and descriptive. If you’re not sure how to put an article together, we will try to help you through the process.
Submission Tips - Photos: Photos should strive to be: in focus, interesting and should compliment the story submitted.
Keep in mind - All submissions are subject to editorial review and revision.
Submission must include: Name, and E-mail address. Phone # is optional Submissions can be sent via e-mail to: admin@indietude.com

Like throwing a stone into a pond, the impact of that stone creates
ripples of energy, expanding outward, and those living in its path can
feel the momentum of that energy. In an effort to cast a stone into a
sea of established indie websites, IndieTude hopes to create ripples
of energy that entertain, stimulate thought, and promote Indie Music,
as well as liberal thought and expression.
IndieTude was created combining two words: Indie - short for
Independent and Attitude. These two words fit together perfectly
and can be used to describe some of the musicians, singers and
writers I have been privileged to meet.
Like a little punk pissing into an ocean wave, Indie artists continue
to rock on in whatever genre they embrace. They take risks, create
energy and promote their art - their way. The gold standard example
of this spirit would be Joan Jett. Twenty-plus years ago, Jett couldn't
get the time of day from various record executives. In true punk
fashion, Jett took her music directly to the people – promoting her
band in clubs and selling her records out of the trunk of her car.
She never gave up and Blackheart Records was born. That type
of attitude and individualism should always be encouraged.
If you’re an Indie artist, it’s almost impossible to find a forum
interested in covering your show, or reviewing your latest CD
release. If you can’t get the word out, it’s tough to create a buzz,
find an audience, sell your product, or get gigs.
The primary reason why IndieTude was created was to celebrate
the spirit of the Indie artistic community and provide a showcase
and forum for their activities. That is not to say that we won’t cover
or discuss mainstream artists from time to time, but our primary
focus will be on the Indie community.
We believe free thought and expression is and will always be
revolutionary. It begins with each individual being able to express
their creative ideas, give it shape and attitude and offer it to the
public for review. Our intent is to promote those artists and free
thinkers and give them a voice.

Our Mission Statement :
We are committed to highlighting independent
artists in music, film, theatre, art, free thought and
expression regardless of gender or artistic genre.
We want to encourage passion, attitude for life
and free expression by highlighting those artists
and free thinkers who are willing to stand or fall
by their passion and creativity.
We are committed to providing a non-membership
website to all Indie artists who submit their creative
endeavors for review and consideration. We will
provide a ‘no bullshit’ review zone. We believe if
you have the balls to be an Indie artist, then you
should have the balls to handle another person’s
opinion.
Ultimately, our goal is to promote networking within
the Indie Community (artists & businesses) as well
as promote political and social activism among that
community.
Lastly, we want to encourage the love of music and
artistic expression in our culture today and promote
the arts in education and life in general.
